Contact Me
Nicola combines her passion for history with a love of dressing up to bring characters vividly to life. She delivers entertaining and engaging workshops, interpretative performances and storytellings to primary and secondary school pupils, as well as adult groups. Subjects range from the cursed Stewarts, World War 1, and the Jacobites. She is the co-author of The Purple, White and Green, the story of the Scottish Suffragettes.

Nicola holds regular storytelling sessions for nursery children involving rhyme, song and actions and has recently adapted the Greek Myths for telling in Care Homes. She also delights in entertaining adults with dark tales over dinner.

Working as a freelance trainer, tour guide and learning consultant, Nicola provides voice and drama workshops and is a firm advocate of children as storytellers.

Nicola is the Storyteller in Residence at Trimontium Museum Melrose and Trinity House Maritime Museum. She delivers research‑led storytelling for schools, nurseries, museums and community groups, including long‑term residencies and projects supporting children and young people to tell the stories of their own places.

Trinity House is home to a treasure trove of fascinating maritime memorabilia, characters and stories. Nicola researches and delivers tours and workshops for schools, colleges and community group as well as giving public tours and hosting special events.

Training & Consultancy
Nicola has delivered tour guiding and storytelling training for East Lothian Council Museums Service, Historic Environment Scotland and Edinburgh College, and has provided consultancy for museums including The Museum of Fire Heritage, Trinity House Maritime Museum and Historic Environment Scotland’s Stanley Mills.
